I really needed to write this post today, about my Little boy. He has always been such a joy. Really mellow, easy going. Rarely crisd as a baby. Smiled early. Personality, but a really cool and calm kid. Perfectionist to a fault. He would figure something out, and then have to perfect it. Once he figured out how to get out of his toddler bed, he repeated the process a hundred times. Just to make sure he got it right. Always with such concentration. When he first mastered stairs, he went up and down the stairs all day, till he felt comfortable that he had it down. When he was first learning to walk, he was confidently walking with a hand on the furniture, but would not let go, till he was sure he wouldn’t fall. I am sure this will be a pain later, but its just a wonderful part of his personality now. He loves to color, but on any surface! He used to hate to bathe, because he was not in control. Now, that he can take a bath without my help, he is happy to play with the bubbles. The minute I wash his hair, he is out of that tub. Early in the morning on the weekends, he loves to cuddle his daddy, watch Tom & Jerry or Handy Manny. He also will sit calmly in the play room and watch preschool cartoons on the Disney Channel with Katie. Or play Calico critters with her nicely. He loves stomping in puddles. He frustrates easily, when he can’t communicate or execute the things he wants. (see perfectionist). He lines up his toys in an organized fashion, and loves to put things in order. He likes to rough house with Daddy, and sometimes mommy will do. He is a runner. Put him down and watch him go. He will run away from you in a mall, or into a street or in a parking lot. Sometimes he will walk sweetly holding my Hand. He still carrys his Blue Blankey – named Lovey (of which I have 3) with him everywhere, and sucks his thumb. Even when he drives me to distraction with his antics, I try to remember boys will be BOYS, and toddlers will be toddlers.
