Happy Birthday Hubby … and stuff

We moved shop successfully. A whopping success really, as the shop is doing much better, and the location is much more attractive. We have been having a blast with everything. More press, a Grand opening complete with ribbon cutting.

The fourth of July parade went right in front of our door!

We are finally unpacked in our new home as well. We took longer thanks to having moved the shop the week before the house, plus it being summer time we wanted to make sure the kids were enjoying everything. We live less than 6 blocks from the lake, and it has a great sand and swim area. We also spent the evening of the fourth of july watching the fireworks in said park. We were all able to walk to and from.

So here is the grand tour of what our little home looks like.

I love it. It was built in the 1800′s. It is only 1900 sq ft, but compared to the apartment it feels like a palace. We still plan on building, but we want to build the home of our dreams, not make do. We want to research, and really do it right. Fast is great (and patience and I have never gotten along), but right is better. In the mean time (2 years max) this is our home. The girls LOVE it. Katie has finally stopped asking to go back to the blue house in Kenmore (was so heart breaking). She still misses her friends, Laura’s house most of all.

Today is my Darling Hubby’s Birthday. We took the whole weekend off! (This has not happened since we opened the store) We spent saturday going to Niagra Falls (the Canada side this time).  It was way cooler than I expected. It had tons of cool stuff to do. Downside it was way too touristy. I guess I am too used to Vancouver BC. This place was slammed like NYC during rush hour in the tourist areas. It was a hot day, and I really wanted to get in water. We ended up eating dinner at Planet Hollywood (which was way 90′s and the food was sub par), which the girls Loved. Then we went to the Hershey’s store. On the way, there was a sudden downpour the likes of which I usually love. Since we were walking, all of a sudden a stampede of tourist teenagers were bearing down on me and the stroller trying to pile into the Hershey store. Not fun. I did get wet tho, and it was kind of refreshing.

Sunday we taught the CTR 7&8 class at church. 5 boys, the only girl was our Bekah. A challenge to say the least. We are substituting that class again this sunday as well. Wish us luck!

Tonight I will make him a special dinner and desert (or order one depending on my mood). Today we do have to work, as we are training a new employee, and we are expecting a LARGE shipment of toys in tomorrow.  We are sad to be so far away for so many special times. We miss our friends back home. Tim really would have liked to double to a nice restaurant or a Mariner Game or something with our favorite couple back home. I know it will be hard for me to find something as cool as back home on my birthday. My only consolation is that my mom (hopefully dad too!) will come when it is time for little Charlotte to arrive. I can share our love of this area, and all the neat things we have found.

Tomorrow we are going to the Hill Cumorah Pageant, on the Hill Cumorah, of course. Unlike last year, we have the opportunity to bring the girls with us as well. I hope they love it as much as we did.
