Bekah’s Day

Bekah’s 8th birthday was yesterday. It is so hard for me to believe how big she has gotten.

BEKAH1

She got flowers delivered, that I forgot to photograph, that she loved. She got lots of fun gifts from her aunts and uncles. Her big present from us was a big girl 20″ bike without training wheels. I didn’t get a chance to see her on it yet, but when I do I will take a photo. Her baptism was at 1:30 yesterday, and went very well. Her Aunt Rachel gave the talk on Baptism, and Uncle Eric did the opening prayer. Cousin Gayle did the Talk on the Holy Ghost, and Cousin Henry did the closing prayer. A friend of the family did a beautiful primary song called when I am baptized. It is by far my favorite song about baptism. The lyrics are below.

I like to look for rainbows when ever there is rain
and ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again.

I want my life to be as clean as Earth right after rain
I want to be the best I can,
and live with God again.

I know when I am baptized my wrongs are washed away,
and I can be forgiven and improve myself each day.

I want my life to be as clean as Earth right after rain
I want to be the best I can,
and live with God again.

Don’t worry, the look she is making is for me, believe me I was lucky to get one shot of her. After the service she received her very own set of scriptures with her name on them, in a nice case. We put notes in them from all who sent them. After we returned home, she got to practice her bike riding skills at the farm, while her brother took his afternoon nap. Once they returned, we headed for a celebratory Red Robin dinner. Both the girls got free dinners and ice cream and singing. They had a blast. Once they returned home, they watched the video they pooled their birthday moneys for, Enchanted.

Today, when the girls woke up, they got their ipods, and handmade neck cases for them. Katie got a microphone to sing along with Hannah Montana. Aunt Rachel also gave them their own personalized handmade peekaboo bags.

Bekah got her birthday cake, and candles tonight. Aunt Rachel and Uncle Eric and Alli leave tomorrow back home to Kentucky. So things around here will return to normal, and I will get working on getting the sock club on its way out.
